What we store, and who can see it.

Who we are

TLC Family is a product of Time-Line Continuum Pty Ltd. You can reach us at info@time-linecontinuum.com.

What we collect

• Your email address, so that you can sign in and so we can send you a sign-in link or a password reset.
• Your name and email address if you use the message form, so we can reply to you and tell you about what is new in TLC Family, along with anything you choose to write in the message box. You do not need an account to use that form, and we do not use those details for anything else.
• The family information you enter: names, dates of birth and death, birth places, relationships between people, and any notes you add.
• Anonymous usage statistics: which pages are visited and roughly where in the world from. This uses Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not follow you across other websites.

The message form

Every page carries a form for asking us a question or leaving your details so we can tell you about what is new. What you put in that form is sent to us as an email, through our own mail server on the Time-Line Continuum domain. We do not store it in a database on this website.

Ask us at any time to take you off that list and delete your details, and we will. Write to info@time-linecontinuum.com.

Who can see your tree

You, and nobody else. Each tree belongs to the account that created it, and the database enforces that on every single read, not just in the interface. There is no public directory, no way to browse other people’s trees, and no sharing feature. Your tree is also excluded from search engines.

We can technically reach the data because we run the service, and we may do so to fix a fault or to restore a backup. We do not read family trees otherwise, and we never sell or share your information with anyone else.

A note about other living people

A family tree usually contains details about relatives who are still alive and who have not agreed to anything. Please think about that before you record a living person’s date of birth or address, and before you print or send a copy to anyone.

Where it is kept

The application runs on Vercel and the database is hosted by Supabase. Backups are taken so that the service can be restored after a failure.

Your choices

• You can correct or delete any person in your tree at any time.
• You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it. Write to us at the address above and we will confirm when it is done.
• You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you.

Changes to this page

If what we do changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
